Leeds-Melbourne
We met at an artist residency in the tiny town of Börstingen, Germany in 2017, then again in Venice and Berlin two years later. We keep in touch through regular voice messaging via Whatsapp.
One of us lives in Leeds, the other in Melbourne, and forever losing track of the time difference. It’s her morning and my evening, good morning good evening good afternoon? Sorry for the long message/the sad message/I’m being selfish/sorry for all the yawning; stop apologising that’s what I’m here for. Endearing repetitive politeness.
We talk about silly things, uncomfortable things, sad things, food mostly… did I tell you I shoplifted the other day? How is your brain? Do you miss Berlin? Can you come over later and we eat vegan donuts on the couch before I go to work? That would be nice.
