We met at an artist residency in the tiny town of Börstingen, Germany in 2017. We keep in touch through regular voice messaging via Whatsapp. One of us lives in Bradford, England, the other in Coburg, Australia. It’s their morning and my evening, good morning good evening good afternoon? Sorry for the long message/the sad message/sorry for all the yawning; stop apologising that’s what I’m here for. We talk about silly things, uncomfortable things, sad things, food mostly… did I tell you I shoplifted the other day? How is your brain? Do you miss Berlin? Are you in lockdown? Can you come over later and we eat vegan donuts on the couch before I go to work? That would be nice.
